Writing a review about Noor Mohammadi is like writing a
Nalli Nahari review. That is what they are famous and well known in Mumbai for. I
went there on a Sunday morning to have my brunch. You can’t expect awesome
ambience and go to this place. Its more like a roadside joint with a lot of
local population. If you are going with you family/girlfriend you might as well
sit in the AC section which is above. If you’re a girl and decide to sit in the Non AC section
then be ready for a lot of stares. People will be staring at you and eating
their food (Don't try it at home).
Anyways, once in I ordered their Nalli Nahari, Chicken
Sanju baba and aloo gosht. The dishes arrived within a couple of minutes with
piping hot Naans (one of the best I’ve ever had). The Nalli Nahari is heavenly.
The meat is soft and succulent and the Nalli melts in your mouth. For people
who don’t eat beef they have a Mutton Nahari as well. The Chicken Sanju Baba
was quite nice. They claim that the recipe was given to them by the
Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt himself (Hmm….I somehow knew Sanjay Dutt is a
foodie ***Nothing to do with his Paunch :-P***). The Aloo gosht was Fair, One
potato and two small pieces of meat and decent in taste.
Overall the food and service was quite good. You might get
the felling that the waiters are trying to rush you off but that’s mainly because
the place and always full, with customers waiting. The price was also really
reasonable. My bill came upto 240 which was really neat for the amount of food
I had. Overall a good experience(minus the ambience)!!!!
